Quantum Computing

Quantum Computing
Quantum Computing is a field that reexamines the very nature of information by moving beyond the binary logic of classical machines. It is a paradigm shift that views information processing through the lens of quantum mechanics. At the heart of the area is Quantum Information, which studies how qubits, unlike classical bits, can exist in superpositions and become entangled to perform computations that seem fundamentally beyond the reach of classical computers. By developing the mathematical frameworks for these systems, we aim to understand the true limits of what can be computed and how information is structured at the most fundamental level. One of our research areas is Quantum Cryptography, where we explore how this new paradigm can redefine digital security. Rather than relying solely on traditional mathematical "hardness" assumptions, we develop protocols that leverage the unique informational properties of quantum systems to achieve security guarantees that are fundamentally different from classical methods. Another area of study is understanding the effect of quantum communication on the complexity of problems, in particular proving (or ruling out) distributed quantum advantage.
